Default muffler performence and sound

hello im new to the forums here and i would like some help in choosing my next muffler for my 82 c-10 with dual exhaust and a 350 in it im seriously considering putting a cherry bomb vortex with dual inlet and dual outlet on it and was wondering is this the best muffler i could put on it for nice sound and performance i would like a muffler that's nice sounding but not too loud when normal cruising but when i floor it i get a awesome ear splitting sound to make everyone jealous and also doesn't have that annoying drone and bass sound in the cab

Well typically if you want ear splitting loud when you go wide open throttle,
Then it is likely gonna be pretty damn loud just idling.
Cherry bombs/glasspacks are not my flavor of kool-aid.
They sound rather raspy to me.
However I think if they make it for you, a flowmaster 10 series may be what
You are looking for.

If you already have the pipes, why not go with 2 mufflers? If you like the flowmaster sound then super 40's sound pretty good but have some resonance to them until about 2000 rpm or so. Or if you like glasspacks then go that route, just use 2 of them. Do not go over 2 1/2" diameter pipes on a true dual exhaust and you should be happy with the results.

There is a new one out that is made to deaden that resonation. Here is a link to it Dynomax® Performance Exhaust | Mufflers | Dynomax VT™ Muffler

its called the Drone free, or something like that, its got a little flapper inside of it that kills the rumble when you dont want it. but the flapper opens up when you want it to be loud.
