Default Need Help Wiring a Speed Sensor

I just bought a 1989 C1500, 5.7L TBI with automatic transmission. After a solid month of tuning, and throwing parts at it, I've got the engine in top shape. Now I'm on to some electrical problems. My first task is to get the speedometer working. The odometer doesnt work either, so the first thing I went to check was the speed sensor. Turns out, all the wires around the transmission have been somehow shredded to bits. I have no idea what goes where. The connectors that I see down there dont look salvageable. How can I go about getting this VSS wired to the ECM again? If anyone has any experience or knowledge with this, I would greatly appreciate it!!! I know absolutely nothing when it comes to electrical work.

This is a better view of it. I believe the wire size would be 16 gauge.

Thanks so much for the help. Doesnt look so bad! I'm going to pick up the wire after work tomorrow, and order a new pigtail connector tonight. Hopefully the sensor still works. I'll post the results as soon as I get everything. Thanks again!

Does anyone happen to have a similar diagram for a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 4.3 6 cylinder manual trans?
