Hey,

First post here. Never owned a Chevy but am looking at used trucks in the 2006-2008 range. Had Fords before but they've really gone astray imo with the design of the 5.4l V8 with it's spark plug, OHC phasors and loooong camchains and tensioner problems.

Being a DIY guy I just don't think I could own one and always be listening for that misfire, tick, knock or other signs that it's time to go inside or pay $1,000 + for someone else to if free time is short.

All that said, I've just run across a 2008 Silverado LT (1LT) extended cab that looks great, has the 5.3l V8 (pushrods!) but mileage is a little high for the year at 130,000 and change.

Is there anything particular to this model I should give the eagle eye when I go see and drive it? Rust? Electrical issues? I'll be checking for leaks, all electrical functions, lamps, CC, etc.
