Default OBD ll port problems

I have a 02 Silverado 2500 HD with a 6.0l in it. I tried installing a tune on it and my obd ll port won't power up the tuner. I also tried my scan tool and it won't read either. Can anyone point me in a direction to start to correct my problem?

Does your scan tool power up or does it power up and able to connect? If the port is dead you probably have a blown fuse. In most years the fuse also is for the cigarette lighter. It is best to check all the fuses.

That was the fix. I checked all the fuses a couple days ago and the CIG lighter one was blown so I changed it and never thought to try that I never would have guessed it was on the same circuit. I have mostly been a Mopar man until recently. Thanks for the help

I also noticed that my obd port was not working at all. now I'll go check that fuse. Its probably the only one I didn't check.
