Default paint/clear coat question

Hi, my name is Gene I have been browsing the forums for a few weeks and finally decided to sign up. I have a 1990 3/4 pickup that has very little damage to the exterior, but some of the damage although cosmetic kind of bothers me, the clear coat has started peeling (especially along side the bed) and there are some rust spots on the pickup, mainly on the driver side fender, it started rusting under the paint. what would be the best way to repair the clear coat and paint?

Gene

Welcome to the board gene- the honest answer to your question is that it sounds like you need to junkyard a rust free fender and have the fender and bed repainted to match the rest of your truck. If there is rust or paint damage anywhere else then your may have to consider a repaint of the entire truck. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
