Hey, I have a 1983 Scottsdale. The engine was originally on gas, but had been rebuilt, and changed to propane. I've been considering changing it, so it does both gasoline, and propane. I know that in the past they had problems with that. (Timing, fuel/air ratio? etc.)

I was wondering if anybody knew of any new technology out there that could retune the engine everytime it got switched over from propane to gas....

First of all Welcome to the Forum

As you know that the Propane has much higher octane number than Gasoline so it requires very low flash temp. So it is not possible for you to change the ignition timing every time when you switched from gas to propane.

No, you don't need to "re-tune"; just set the engine up to factory specs and change fuels at will.

Only problem I've ever ran into with these setups is the outside temps. At -20 to -30°, the propane just does not flow/vaporize as well as gasoline.
