Removal of front license plate mount

Removal of front license plate mount
I have the All new 07 Silverado... Anyone know what tool you use to remove the front license plate mount??? They seemed to use specialscrews to attach the mount..I know GM does this for a reasonfor state regulation.

My truck is a 2006 and it uses a 7/16 standard size nut driver, but if yours is different I would bet its a star bit or a torx bit driver. Both look like stars almost like an allen wrench fitting.

Its a special GM-only bit. You'll have to go to your dealer and I think they will give you the tool if it didn't come with the truck.

I have a really expensive LSU liscence plate on the front of my truck 2008 Champions plate made of puter. I'd like to put those kind of nuts on it to keep anyone from stealing it, could I get that and the tool from a dealer ship?
