Default Shaving Antenna???

Alright so every time I drive too fast, it's windy, or I go through a car wash my antenna bends in a weird distorted direction and I have to get out and fix it. How would I go about just taking it off and does anyone know of a good cap or filler that I would use to cover up the hole?? I still want my radio, but I hate that thing.

Thanks in advance

Well man there are a couple things you can do but i would say the easiest is to just go to a auto store and look for a shorter antenna my buddy did the same thing and he just went and picked up a little 6 inch chrome one that looks really good and he had no complaints, said the reception was just the same. yours will unscrew by just grabbing a little wrench or a pair of vicegrips if you dont care about it at the base of the antenna and just unscrew it. thats the cheapest and easiest way to go about it.
