Shift ****
I have a 1998 K1500 manual transmission, and was wondering what size threads are used for the shift ****. I am looking into getting a T-Handle and wanted to make sure I got the right thing

RE: Shift ****
I was looking at these hurst shifters...
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=10521
They have different threaded versions. I'm also curious as how to remove the stock shifter **** (I'm assuming it is threaded on one way or another). I have read somewhere about removing the gear map on top of the ****, or removing some "staple"... I'm not really sure. Any ideas?

RE: Shift ****
There is no nut at the bottom. There is some white plastic piece underneath the material covering the **** (I cannot see much of this plastic piece because I have to stretch the covering out to see it. However, I see no threads, screws or nuts. It is just a smooth and cylindrical.) There has to be a feasible way of removing the **** without breaking it open.
