my uncle is giving me his old 7ft plow. is it worth to plow with a 1500? nothing serious, just a few long driveways and my neighborhood street. truck is a 4x4 but with 4.8L, which also does not have the plow package....can i get that installed later on too? i just don't want to have to pass up a free plow u know.

You may have to by some hardware for your truck. i had a 2000 ext, cab and then bought a 2003 and had to change the plow truck fram and wireing harness. the 03 plowed 3 FEET of snow fore 4 days with the only problum was the plow was to light and wood rise up and the frount tires would come off the ground. i had to dig under the truck to get them back on the ground. good luck

depending on how old and what type of plow it is it can be done ,but be aware that you will need the timbren load booster's installed and the torsion bar's cranked up .
the 4.8 will be a bit under powered and will limet how much you can push you will need about 5-6 hundred Pound's of ballast weight in the back and some good tire's .good luck
