Default low oil pressure on rebuild..

just rebuilt 99 silverado 6.0L.. message canter is reading low oil pressure... when removing the motor the oil sending unit was cracked.. I am not sure if that is why I am getting the reading..Pulled off the valve cover then started the motor.. There was a small stream of oil coming out of the push rods at idle.. Never seen a 6.0l before but I am use to the oil shooting all over the place.. Is this normal? I did replace the oil pump during rebuild.. The only code coming up is the 02 sensor..
Thanks

You really need to put a mechanical oil pressure tester on so you can see the actual oil pressure, before any damage is done.
