im about to put i 2" leveling kit on my truck and was wanting to replace my shocks in the process but do now know what kind to get. i am wanting a little more of a stiffer ride because right now it feels like im riding in a truck that doesnt even have shocks on it so any advice will help

Well, I would go with Rancho. I talked to the Local O'Reilleys about getting longer shocks for my truck, I just cranked my T-bars 2inches. They said they could find a set that were 2 inches longer for teh front, I need new shocks in the front. My truck rides a lil rougher then I want it.

I had Rancho Gas RS7000s on my van. They were great. I prefer a stiff ride though. You may want to go with the 5000s.

So Nautic, you didn't necessarily have to change your shocks to longer ones when you turned your keys, right? You just thought you'd get a better ride with some new ones? I'm thinking of adding some keys to a 2010 2500hd but wasn't sure if i'd have to get new shocks. I see people talking about getting longer shocks, and sorry for showing my ignorance, but how do you know how "long" your stock shocks are? Thanks for the help guys.

you can pretty much go to the website for which shocks you want to order and they'll tell you which one is right for your truck. I went with the bilstein 5100 series and when i ordered them it brought up a list of how long the shocks were and what they were made for. Like ours were for a 2.5 inch leveling kit and it directly told you that

I don't have to get new shocks, I just think it'll help the ride. I cranked 'em 2 1/4". I think my shocks ain't got a whole lotta travel left. I could be wrong though. I'm doing one of 2 things. I'm drivng 1200miles in May pulling a trailer. If I can't handle that ride, I'm changing them in July. Or I'm going to wait until I hit 36,000miles, and change all 4 when I do my 36k full maintence.

country_09 is right, I know that at Advance Auto you can look up your stock shock and it will also list shocks for lifted ride heights. They also sell Rancho.

i put a leveling kit on my truck last month and ended up buying all 4 shocks along with the keys. it was a rough country leveling kit btw. check them out.
