How is your radiator? If its got alot of junk inside, it could be clogging up. Is it still getting really hot then cooling down, and back and forth? or is it just getting hot and staying hot?

Since you haven't checked it yet, go ahead and look at the water pump. I have seen pumps the looked fine, but the chemicals in the water had over time eaten away most or all the impeller blades. They don't move much water with no impeller, and the result was just about what you are describing.

okay well yesterday i replaced the water pump and burped the coolant and everything but its still happening. and yeah its still going up and down back and forth. but you guys are thinking its the radiator? or could it be the gauge?please help cause this is really starting to make me angry cause now its heating up so bad that my check gauges come on. anythinkg will help guys thank you.

pretty qiuck i can see it moving up or down.and now i think it is the gauge cause when my truck was running i got in it and slammed the door shut the gauge moved down so i hit the dash and it moved down some more. so i just bought the gauge and i'm going to go put it in i will let you guys know what happens.

yeah i believe so. by the way do you know were i locate my warning light sender on the motor??? i have no clue where it is

like a gauge i don't know how to explain it it says temp on it and numbers for the temp. not to exciting. but any ways do you know were i locate my warning light sender?

What you have a external gauge, which maens that it will needto be mounted out side the cluster, typically most (if not all) external gauges don't hook up to the warning light, Are you instructions asking you to?
