Thinking to hard
Hi. I just replaced heads on repo chev. Timing gear ect, The problem is when I start the truck it runs bad rich gas smell ses light blinking. After a few minutes after I get it going it runs perfect no miss or nothing. Let it sit does it all over again.

Don't have scan tool here it's at work. I haven't got that far. I have to pretty much keep it running or it will die. After it warms up a bit it runs great engine light goes off and it doesn't smell like its rich. It's almost like injectors are leaking just concerned about valve. Thank u,

I am thinking intake air temp sensor. I THINK you have a maf sensor, regardless I think since it does this when cold, the IAT sensor isn't sending its signal for the pcm (or whatever) to get the correct fuel/air ratio, in other words it is putting more fuel than it has air because it dosen't know what air flow is comming in. My thought.
