Default removing and reinstalling back up camera

Just purchased a 2009 3500HD Dually. Will be removing pick up bed and putting a Chasis mount dog box on -want to know if it is possible to remove the back up camera and reinstall it in the new stainless steel dog box.

TIA

camera is part of the tailgate handle. If you re-use that part you should be able to retain the backup cam
