I'm looking at towing my 2004 Silverado, going to tow it using a tow bar, my question is, can I use the front tow hooks?

or should i take them off and use the existing holes to connect the tow bar?

I wouldn't tow it either method. If you have AAA, get a professional to flat bed tow it.

If you must, rent a tow dolley; if your t-case doesn't have a neutral position to permit dingy towing or dolley towing, remove the driveshaft.

tech2, I'm driving about 200 miles, a tow truck would cost too much. I thought about renting a tow dolley but it said it wouldn't handle it, would towing it with *** up work?

just did a search for tow bars. I was suprized to find one for your application. I have never used one for a 6000lb vehicle so i do not know how it will handle. This unit has to be mounted to the frame of the vehicle. Any generic tow bar mounted to the bumper or tow hooks are definitely not safe. You would still be looking at $400 for the this tow bar.

anyone have experience using a uhual dolly? i know uhaul states it wont fit but read other places that say it will fit. any help would please?
