Default Trailer wiring for a 2010 Silverado

Hey folks,

I've looked through the forums and used the search feature and still found nothing on this topic. I'm stumped. I have a 2010 Silverado LS and just recently put on the trailer receiver and hitch but haven't hooked up any lights. I got under the truck today and can't for the life of me figure out where a hook up for the lights would go. I'm not sure if it's as simple as using a plug in or if you'd have to splice the wires. I'm not sure if I'm leaving out some important details so if theres anything else just ask. Thank you in advance

Buy the vehicle specific connector and it should have instructions.

Hey fellas, after a long time of reading the manual and finding what I needed I got everything hooked up. Yesterday I couldn't find the 7 pin harness but ended up finding it today and went out and bought the adapter and have everything all hooked up now. Thanks for the help. It won't be the last dumb question I ask.

Default 7 pin Help

I have found where my 7 pin connector should be but there is no flip up cover for the outlet. If I rotate the cover that is there I can pull it out and remove it and see the wiring for the wiring harness but not the complete bumper mount outlet. Is there a part that I can get to extend the wiring to the bumper with the cover???

Thanks for any help, BTW its a 2010 that I just recently purchased.

RalifC, I would suggest speaking with your local dealership. They should be able supply the part and install it as well if you wish. I hope that helps you. If you have any car troubles you can speak with me. Thank you for your time.

Hi everyone, new guy here..I also have a 2010 Silverado LT and recently purchased the trailer hitch and installed it. I can see the wiring behind the bumper where they should be but have a blank plug in my bumper where the flip-up cover should be. Any suggestions as to what I have to buy to be able to use it. I would think that all I should have to buy is the cover and remove the blank. Thanks for all of your help. I can provide a picture if it would help.
BTW I have done a few upgrades, DIC, remote start and I have the steering wheel with the radio controls but haven't put that one in yet, so if anyone has any questions I can provide the links to where I purchased them and what it took to get it working.
