Question Tranny Fluid Leak...

OK 89 chev 2wheel drive... ok.. it seemed to be leaking out the rear seal of the tranny where the yolk goes in... changed the seal.. still leaked... the ujoint was stiff as ****.. gotta new ujoint, moves nicely, still leaked... and fast.. ok it was parked today for a hour n a half at a slight slope, front tires facing up, and when i came out there was quite a bit of fluid on the ground.. i was told it is possible the the fluid is leaking past the splines and out of that little hole that allows air to pass through... think this is the cause? when i checked it seemed dry around the seal, but seemed kinda wet on the ujoint..

Yes Sir,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
<o></o>
That's exactly what's happening. <o></o>

Replace the spline seal. It is a black "asterisk-looking” (*) rubber seal that slides up into the yoke.<o></o>
