This may be covered somewhere else but I couldn't find it. All the trim these days seems to be glued on and is a pain to remove. Any one have tips to remove trim with out damaging the paint underneath? I seen on British car show they where using what reminded me of a ring clip remover. You slide it under and squeeze it like pliers and it pulls the trim loose but it was on the old bolt on style. I haven't seen one in the local parts store and didn't know how to describe it to the employees to know what I'm talking about. Any help is welcome. Thanks

Well, being an old school collision repair guy from tech school, I've used a heat gun and a stiff piece of plastic that has been filed down on one edge. Made it look like a carpenters pencil. bout 6 inches long and about 1/4 inch thick. smoothed out the edges after filing plastic down and used it like a spatula while aiming a hair blower to it. Just wrm enough to touch for a brief moment. Then you just work it slowly til you get it started. After that you should get the idea. I actually got the piece of plastci from a local body shop that was stiff enough to hold and work with, without it bending like a spatula.

15-20lb fishin string and an eraser wheel from an auto parts store. String takes the trim/letters right off and the glue comes off with the eraser. Then take a good cleanin to it with wax after
