Default Truck loseing power and shakeing

2000 Silveraldo. Z71 5.3 engine. Truck starts fine. Basically while going up hills truck starts to lose power and sharts shakeing like its haveing hard time downshifting. I can give it more gas it will then downshift and be ok.
Anyone had this issue. Possible fuel pump or igintion issue or tranny? thanks for any imput.

Wheb was the fuel filter replaced? I'd start there and if you go to Autozone, they'll pull codes for free.

I havent repalce the fuel filter. Hopefully its something that simple. but it feels more serious than the filter.

I had tune up appx @50-60k miles. I now have 105k

had the same prob with my 01 silverado. computer said crank shaft sensor. mine was located bottom front of the motor under the pulleys thus "crank shaft" changed it out then had to reset the computer... now she runs like new...

oh and i was told they go out alot on silverados... my advice? get the lifetime warentee its worth the extra $10.

lumpiester. Did you run a dia. on the truck and it gave codes for the sensor? did you have any check engine lights to come on? thanks

Not all problems will turn the light on but will set a code.

I just got back from the shop. I had to get oil change and tires rotated. I had them change the fuel filter. They told me it was very dirty. Truck seems to run and acually shift better. But havent driven it engough yet to tell.
