Default Ceramic Pads?

I've got a 2007 Silverado with about 42k miles. The brakes just started to give a squeek every now and then. How hard is it to change the pads (any tricks) and would you recommend ceramic pads?

I would only recommend ceramic. That is all we use at work.

i agree with md, ceramic pads last twice as long as semi metallic pads, and also giving off a lot less brake dust. its not very hard to change brake pads, make sure to get rotors resurfaced/ new ones if needed.
