What kind of durability should I expect from the v6 4.3. Thanks

i know up in NY, my old boss had 2 4x4 1500 plow trucks with V6's in them, I'd have to say they were early 90's trucks, so 20 years old plow trucks with V6's

The 4.3 is an excellent engine. I have 167,000 miles on mine and it is still going strong. Idles like it was new. Just like with any engine you have to do the regular maintenance. I change my oil every 4,000 miles since new and now it is paying off.

I've had 2 vehicles with the 4.3 V-6. A 92 Astro van and a 95 4x4 1500 pickup. While not powerful, they were dependable motors. I believe the horsepower has increased in later years.
