Default Where does this coolant leak look like its coming from?

93 silverado z71 250,000 miles

Cant figure it out, Replaced lower radiator hose because I thought it was that. I seen coolant dripping off the bottom of the lower radiator hose and put my hand around it and there was a bunch of coolant.

I couldnt see much on the photos, but it may be leaking out of the weep hole in the water pump which means it needs to be replaced.

If I remember correctly, it's behind the pulley that the fan is attached to. That hose in the pictures, with the white tag, is more than likely attached to the water pump itself.

That hose with the white tag is the lower radiator hose and it goes into the engine block. Do you think the water pump is right there?

No offense, but if your askin' where the water pump is on a '93 Chevy truck engine... Take it to a shop if it needs to be replaced.


But, the waterpump is what the fan is connected to, where you can see the underside of the belt.

The lower hose is attached to radiator and waterpump.

or at the very least get a good repair manual. then read it thoroughly for what you need to fix before attempting.

Hmm thats weird I have the SAME EXACT problem right now got a coolant leak..Can not find out where its coming from..i got coolant in my Fan shroud,underneath like the photo's...my belt Sqeekes...and i cant seem to find the leak...Does your belt sqeeke also?But i can see the coolant Cirulating when the cap is off..That wouldnt mean the pump is Shot would it?

it doesnt have to be shot to leak.... its a real easy fix.. maybe 45 mins and 30 of it is aking and putting stuff on and off around (fan,fan shroud)
