I have a 2002 silverado z71 that I want to lift. I am debating between a rancho 4" suspension lift with 33" tires and a pro comp 6" suspension lift with 35" tires. I really think the 6" with 35s will look awesome but since this is my daily driver I don't want to kill the gas mileage too much. I will be installing dual exhaust, air intake and a performance chip also in order to get performance and mpg back to normal as much as possible but I don't know how much it will help. I also have 4.10 gear ratio from factory so that would be OK with 35s. I am getting 14+mpg city right now and wouldn't want it sub 12mpg if possible. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

My last truck was a 1998 Chevy 1500 Ext Cab Z71 with a 5.7 liter V8. I went from 16 mpg to 10 mpg once I put a 6 inch lift and 35X12.5R16. Obviously a 4 inch lift with 33X12.50 will get a little better gas mileage because your stock gearing is will turn it easier and the smaller tire is lighter. Also 4 inch lift with a little front bumper trimming will fit the bigger 35X12.5 just saying.

Thanks for the reply. Mine is an extended cab 5.3L V8 as well. That is a pretty significant drop is mpg! Did you also have significant drop in performance as well? Not sure if the added performance products like exhaust, intake or programmer will compensate much for the drop in mpg or performance.

Do the 4" with 33s. The 4:10s will turn those tires fairly easy compared to 35s. Get the intake and if you're doin a dual exhaust put a x-pipe on it, get e-fans and a 34" radiator from a 05-06 silverado and no programmer, get a real tune from blackbearperformance.com or gowheatley.com.

I have 33s with 3:73s and with these mods I get 15 city right now but will be upgrading gears here soon to help move my truck better from stop light to stop light
