Will adding a muffler give more MPG?
Hello, I have a 97 Chevy k1500 v8 350 5.7 extended cab pickup. Currently, there is no muffler. Cats are still on. I get around 8 MPG, but used to get a lot better. Will I be better off with a muffler on? And in your opinion, what muffler sounds the best for dual exhaust?

Ha yes you should definitely get better gas mileage with a muffler. I have the flow master 10 series and love the sound, whether you get it true duals or just one muffler with two tips i guarantee you will not be disappointed. You can check out different exhaust on youtube they have a lot of good videos.

i've gained more mpg on my c1500 when i took the thrush muffler on mine and i'm just running a cat now with 2.25" piping. averaging 21 in the city and 24 highway, before i took muffler off i was getting 16 in the city
