Default Won't run, HELP

I replaced the intake gasket, went well. Complete new distributor put in, but the only way it will run is by pouring gas down the throttle body . It tries to Start on its own but won't. Could it be fuel pressure regulator?

Hi Orgrabbit,

welcome to the Chevy Forums.

OK, so, vintage pickup, assuming it's an eight cylinder, it's probably

a 350?

What year is it?

Sorry should have put that info in. I managed to get it going last night, after replace ing the complete spider assembly. Now I'm getting " camshaft to crankshalf correlation " code. It runs smooth. It's a 1998 with 5.7 . Any ideas on the code?

Thanks

Usually, that would concern timing, but it's not that simple.

You may have the distributor gear off by a tooth or two, at

the cam. Or the timing chain could be stretched and have slipped,

or timing gear teeth broken. Some of the old factory L blocks used

Nylon timing gears.

What is the mileage? Original engine? Has it been run hard?
