Hello .Im in need of some help .I have a 1994 chevy 1500 with the 5.7 tbi motor.I died the other day and would not start .Had to pay for the tow home .I could hear no fuel pump rumming so I replaced it and the filter. No go .I have fuel at the tbi .I can dump fuel down the tbi and it starts up and runs fine.Turn it off and no start unless i reprime it .Any help would be great .i cant afford to take it in or any expensive tools .Thanks

Two things, what is the idle rpm? I think there is a check valve that prevents total fuel drain back, thats where I'd look. Not trying to sell a Haynes or Chiltons, but I don't know where to tell you to look. Check valves rarely go bad, but you could have trash in it keeping it open on shutdown.

I don't have anything on this model, I am sure there is a check valve in the system, it might even be in the fuel filter. I hope someone else can respond. Brother I know what it's like to have to get a vehicle running when broke on the weekend to get to work.
