Default WTF!?! clicking sound coming from the back?

So I backed out of my driveway, and then put it in drive and drove forward. I heard this weird clicking sound and it sounded like it was coming from the back. It wasnt the engine! When I came to a full stop, the clicking stopped. It wasnt a hard clicking, it was literally a click click click click sound. I immediately turned around and pulled back in front of my house and checked around to see if maybe there was something stuck in the wheels but there wasnt. This has never happened before. Its a 93 z71 with 251,000 miles.

Is this a bad sign?

I found what it was. It was this tie wrapped around the driveshaft and as the driveshift turned, it was hitting the muffler and making a clicking/ticking sound. I cut it off, and it stopped making that noise.

lol do u seriously think so? was sorta loose so maybe it slipped down and started hitting the muffler. Oh well, I guess if that wasnt a scare, the oil pan is leaking. I just noticed that when I was crawling around.

This zip tie was about 18 inches long too. I couldve swore I seen it on there before though. What other purpose besides a prank would a zip tie be on there for?

It was EXACTLY by the gas tank too. I am always non stop messing with my truck in my driveway too. My one neighbor has helped me a few times and given me advice on how to fix things on it when he see's me messing with it. And the other neighbor across the street has given me a few tools when I needed them. I dont know if they couldve done it to mess with me or not. I just cant see them doing it though LOL. Its funny cuz all day I was looking under my truck because of the oil leak. It could have been another neighbor too... or someone that doesnt like that im constantly driving my truck all day back and fourth cuz I love it so much!

it pisses me off so much lol. I kinda wanna hit whoever did it lol. Because if it was a joke, and they wanted to see how I would react, I was out trying to find the leak. I was all crawling under the truck trying to see lol. Hopefully they didnt see and hopefully it was already on there. I swear I saw it on there before though. ARGHHHHHHHHH

That is an old shop prank. I have seen it done may times. There is no other reason for a zip tie to be on the shaft.
