Default 2004 to 2009 Aveo engine replacement?

hi, I just bought an 04 Aveo cheap with a broken timing belt. I'm leaning towards replacing the engine myself with a junkyard engine. I have found a great thread where a guy put an 07 engine in his 05 Aveo. I'm wondering what other years are compatible? For example, could I put an '08 or '09 engine in this car? Will the motor mounts line up? Are the intake manifolds interchangeable? Any words of wisdom are much appreciated. thanks.

replacement cost of the engine is probably more than the value of the car. My '02 Corolla 1.8L engine rebuilding to 79,000 in 2004 cost the company $ 3500 ~ warranty, including parts. The job is a tossup, because they had my car for 2 months to complete the work of 8 hours.
