I sold a pre-owned 2009 aveo. the customer is complaining about intermittent starting problems. we have not been able to find the fault like many other internet users. reading through this forum I have seen ecm reflash with sync to immobilizer and replacing ignition switch as possible remedies. is this the proper solution to this problem?

My Aveo has been the worst car I have ever bought. I've had Fords and VW's but this takes the cake. I have had so many issues with it. The latest problem I have is my car wont start, unless I hold the key in... then slowly the lights come on... and if it feels like it, it starts. It seems to be an electrical issue with the car. Because of this my car radio has also died. My mechanic has said that it is the starter. Is it the starter? And do I now have to replace both the starter and the radio? $$$$$$$!!!!!

I am having a cranking problem with my 2009 Aveo.
I purchased a tech manual and have looked at Chiltons online. There are a lot of variations on schematic. How can I tell which schematic I should be using?

MT-80 etc.

Is it showing a check engine lite / service engine soon ?

Read the codes , even if it is the code history or pending code .

Then you will have more information to go on .
