Hello. I have a '98 Tahoe LT 4WD. I recently bought this vehicle and was told that it had a new transmission put in. So the other day I did a little off roading, nothing extreme or anything, and somehow one of the wire harnesses got caught on the drive shaft and wrapped itself around it. So now I can't change from 2wd to 4wd etc., the speedometer doesn't work, and only gear it will run in is 1st regardless what gear you have selected. So now i have a chewed up wire harness that is a little important to have. Only problem is I can't find this wire harness at any of the salvage yards in my area. They simply don't have it or they did but they done cut it out of the vehicle and tossed it in the dumpster to collect for copper. A local GM dealer checked on pricing and couldn't find the exact one I'm looking for but mentioned that there was one with 6 plugs on it that was around $2,900, which is similar to the one I have! Oh and he didn't know the exact name of what the harness is called. So my questions for you all, cuz I feel this is my last hope!, is:

1: What is this harness technically called?
2: Anyone know of any salvage yards that keep fully entact harnesses and are fairly cheap!?

I've attached a few snapshots of the harness. It starts under the hood right by the brake booster, goes across then engine and down to the tranny with a connector that splits off from the harness and plugs into the 4WD case on the front end.
