Default 2001 Suburban Heater, Radio, and Instrument Cluster Problems

I have a 2001 Chevy Suburban with 188k. Yesterday the front heater stopped blowing hot air, the blowers still works just no heat. Then the radio flickered a couple times the next day and now there are no dash lights. The 15amp fuse under the hood was blown, I replaced it and it blew immediately. All three (front heater, radio, and instrument panel) are on the same circuit. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks

Need more info. Define "immediately."

Immediately, as in the second you installed the fuse, it blew?

Or immediately, as in the second you turned on the ignition, it blew?

Or immediately, as in the second you turned on the radio, it blew?

Or immediately, as in the second you turned on the heater/blower, it blew?

IP, heater, and radio are disparate enough systems that you should be able to troubleshoot this. Your cost may be 4-5 15-amp fuses.

Turn everything off, disconnect the battery, then install a new fuse. Then do these steps and see when the fuse blows
1) reconnect battery
2) turn on ignition
3) turn on radio
4) turn on climate control

Whichever step causes the fuse to blow, that will indicate where your problem lies.

Thanks intheburbs. Immediate was car was running, swapped fuses and a little zap... Fuses blown. I'm heading into town this afternoon and will pick up a supply of fuses to dial in the problem. Will respond tonight with progress.
