2015-2016 Suburban Problems
Hey guys!
I'm getting ready to buy 4-5 Suburbans (2015-2016) as part of a fleet to lease to Uber drivers (don't try to talk me out of it, too late)! These vehicles will have around 80k-120k miles when I buy them and will be driven up to 250k miles.
What are the main problem areas I need to watch for in these vehicles around this mileage? For example, my 2014 Escalade blew out all 4 MRC shocks at 90k miles, and I only learned that it is a common occurrence at that mileage after the fact via an Escalade forum.
Suspension is a key aspect of these vehicle, so I will be have that inspected carefully. What else should I be paying special attention to or expecting to have problems with around that mileage? Any other common problems between 100k-200k miles?
Thanks!
Randy

Suspension and steering...
You are spot on about the shocks, ours only made it to 50k miles before failure. Buy an LT with the standard suspension and 20in wheels, in my opinion. Other than that we had power steering issues, and had to have the column replaced. Nothing else major for us, just some glitches with MyLink. I’ll be honest though, after the shocks went out we traded it in on a Sequoia and have not regretted the decision!

Randy, Welcome to The Forum. We had an 04, 07, & 10, Tahoes and a 13 Sequoia. Just got a 18 Expedition and can't believe the difference in ride and quietness and interior on the Expedition versus the previous vehicles. While I have not driven the current version of the Tahoe, I always felt that the 04 rode better than the 07 and 10.

yeah but most 18 or newer vehicles are quieter than an older model....most use noise cancellation tech, some have laminated side glass. I drive the latest 19's at work and get into a 07 on the way home....so your absolutely correct.

i'm at fca. haven't worked on gms in 4 years. The new rams are quiet. I bet the new and chevy are just the same.
the 04 Tahoe had torsion bars...think that made it ride smoother or something else?
