Default 2007 Suburban engine troubles

Has anyone out there experienced engine troubles with the 2007 Chevy Suburban LTZ. My car has 111K miles. I was told today by dealership that the lifters in the engine did not pressurize damaging the cam shaft and the #1 cylinder. Cost to repair is about the same as the cost for a new engine. A year and a half ago, I had to replace oil pump. Any ideas? I am out of warranty so all of this is out of pocket for me.

If it's as expensive as a new engine then get a new one. Or maybe risk buying a used engine from a junk yard and swap it out.
