Default 2007 Tahoe crossed jumper cables

Hey guys........So....long terrible story short, when jumping my 2007 Tahoe LTZ, the cables got crossed (I know how dumb it is and believe me I'm pissed). The result: absolutely no power whatsoever to my tahoe. From looking online it seems there is possibly a fusible link that plugs into the starter from the battery that is likely blown. Does anyone know more about this? Ive called a few parts places and they all aren't sure. Any help will be appreciated with this annoyingly stupid mistake.

Thanks again

have you checked the fuse box? open up the fuse box on the right side of the engine (when looking at it) and take a look.

like you say hopefully just a simple blown fuse

or follow the + wires off the battery and see if you can find a stand alone fuse for the starter

Tried the fuse box and didn't see any blown fuses and was told I wasn't...disconecting the pos wire from the starter right now and apparently there's supposed to be a part there that blows that's color coded to give it's gauge...just trying to figure out what part it is

If it's like GM fusible links of yore, it's just a short pigtail of a smaller gauge wire than the wire it's plugged into.

Check the Mega fuse on the firewall near the battery, its where the positive cable runs too before going to the main fuse box...

Turns out it was the Mega fuse. We came across it yesterday totally by accident and replaced it and all is good again. Thanks for your responses (and that diagram!)

Glad to hear is was something simple
Were you able to find the mega fuse at your local auto parts store?
About how much did it cost?

Default Mega Fuse

So, the exact same thing happened to me...crossed cables, blew the Mega Fuse. Five dollars at my auto parts store to replace, thank goodness.....back in business! ('07 Chevy Suburban)
Thanks for your help!!!

RRROE Welcome to the forum

Thanks for taking the time to post your success with this fix, its what makes the forum work!

After reading a couple of these post, its got me wondering if I should get a mega-fuse to keep in the glove box for JIC...
