Default 2nd row seats

Does anyone know how to convert 2nd row seats to either captains chairs or bucket seats? I'd like to remove the bench seat. Thanks

Unfortunately this swap cannot be done since it will interfere with the air bag system.

How/why does it interfere with the airbags? Is that a year-dependent thing? I want to do the same thing.

ClassicalGlass just did the opposite swap in his 07 Tahoe, apparently without problems. (I was going to trade him my bench for his buckets, but the Suburban floor is flat -- the brackets and the base of the seats are shaped differently, so he bought a bench from eBay.)

you can order the Tahoe with this option of buckets in the 2nd row, I dont see how it would affect you airbags, there is no airbag tied tothe seat in the back, the sensors for the side, are inteh pillars, and not air bags mounted in teh rear seats.....I would think just giet the interior from a tahoe that has this and do it, may haveto add brackets, the bench will fit as it only bolts to either side, the buckets bolt to the middle and side so the middle brackets would have to be added I think...anything is possible....$$

That's what I'm saying... Classical Glass and I figured out that a Suburban/Tahoe swap is NOT possible. The shape of the floor, the brackets, and the seats are different. However, a Suburban-to-Suburban swap should be just fine, just swap the brackets along with the seats and the false floor panel that hides the brackets.

If anybody wants a new-condition black leather 07 bench, let me know, I want 2nd row captain's seats...

Default Removing 2nd Row 07 Suburban Seat

I have a 2007 Suburban and I'm looking to remove the larger 1/2 (behind the driver) of the 2nd row bench seat, leaving the floor open. Has anyone attempted the removal? I have the power fold and tumble, and there seems to be a few springs in there...Will I be able to easily reinstall, or will re-springing the springs be impossible?

Welcome to the forum.

Are springs hooked to the seat frame or the body floor?

Looks like the springs are between the seat frame and the bracket, but I can't see how/where the bracket attaches to the truck body. Hoping someone has taken theirs out before so I don't mess up my seat/fingers!!

Default Removing 2nd Row Seat(s)

I took the dive and removed the 60% side of my 2nd row bench out of my 07 Suburban. Easy. Took 15 minutes, and that included vacuuming the floor under the brackets. I needed it out of the way for a road trip with our 3 little ones (2 in the 3rd row) 1 in the remaining 2nd row. Would be interested in trading the bench for 2nd row captains, my interior is like new (always folded), black leather. If anyone needs some help removing 2nd row seat, let me know. Thanks to all...
