shawnvw nice diagram im assuming the automatic/digital system is going to be different. where are the hvac modules located? under the hood? seems like I would have to change hvac modules and wiring harnesses for it to work, hopefully not the whole blower system and what not.

I've also just noticed after going through a few diagrams, the recirculation actuator, in the automatic system, has an extra wire to tell the hvac control module in what position it is in

And the HVAC control module is the controls in the dash. It is the brains of the unit

shawnvw, i hate to keep bothering but after seeing all these diagrams I started to think even more thoroughly.... since I changed my whole entire dash from an lt1 to a ltz, that means that not only did the hvac module (digital a/c control switch) come with the new dash, but also the wiring for it, including to the bcm. I talked to my friend whom is a tech at chevy and he told me that he had programmed the bcm to automatic a/c from manual a/c (which is probably why my a/c is working right now). So with the dash also came the duct work, and I'm assuming that the air temp sensors are already included. All i'm really missing is the incar sensor above the drivers head and the sunload sensor. Does the wiring to the blower and such (on the right side above passenger foot well) change at all from manual to automatic? Obviously they do at the control switch, but I recall that I didnt need to disconnect any harness from that whole unit behind the pasenger glove box, I hope that made sense lol.

between the auto and manual controls, the wiring is exactly the same as far as the blower motor is concerned. There is 1 wires that comes from the controls to a blower motor module, whihc is really a solid state resistor. Which in turn powers the blower motor and changes speed based on the signal from the wire from the switch. That wire varies from 0-5v depending on fan speed chosen.

I would agree with you when you say "So with the dash also came the duct work, and I'm assuming that the air temp sensors are already included. " So by getting the temp sensor above the drivers head.....which I must say is more than just a sensor, it has a small fan in there that draws air in over the senser......and by also getting the sunload sensor....I think you'd be pretty close to getting this unit working.

And no worries about bothering me...we're here to help guys like you who want to do things themselve out. I do it cause I like to keep on top of things I don't normally dig into.

yeah I really appreciate it, luckily the tech at the dealer who worked on my car was cool and I became friends with him. Him and others laughed at what I had been doing with the conversion. As far as that extra wire to the blower motor, apparently I must have it already connected because the fan speeds work perfectly. I already ordered the sunload and incar sensor BUT the incar sensor is going to take a little more time, since my roof/headiner wiring harness is different from what I need. Its fine because I will be installing a factory sunroof so I needed to get the new headliner and harness anyway.
