96 Suburban, only 5v at Fuel Pump Relay??
Hi.
Trying to trouble shoot a fuel pump problem with a 96 Suburban.
Fuel pump does not come on and no pressure on high-side line.
Relay functions when key is cycled but there is only ~5v coming to and going out of the relay.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much[/align]

some vehicles don't require a full 12 volts for the fuel pump but to be sure locoate your inertia switch and un plug it and hook a 12 volt jumper wire to the one going to the fuel pump and see if it will run that way

If the fuel pump refuses to start, you may be able to get it going by hitting the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet or something similar. If it start when jarred this way, you will know for sure it's fuel pump going out.

Oh ok. Does anyone have a diagram or know which color is the postive feed to the pump?
