Default 96 Tahoe Driveshaft Alignment

I just pulled the rear drive shaft to replace the u-joints on my 96 Tahoe (2Dr/4WD). I tried to mark their position, but found when I went to reinstall that those markings should have been more precise. I assumed since the slip yoke had a "gap" in the teeth it would only go on one way, but I was wrong. I managed to get the drive shaft back in, but now I feel a little "bump" (very subtle, not hard)when I start or come to a stop. No vibration I can feel at highway speeds, but I'm worried I could be just a tooth or so off. Is this possible? If so, how can true it up properly? Thanks...

Default RE: 96 Tahoe Driveshaft Alignment

Generally not getting the driveshaft back on the original spline will not cause a problem like you describe.

Did you grease the splines?
