Default Lift gate issue

Hello, new here. We have a 2007 Suburban LT and the lift gate fails to open properly. Key fob, inside control, and door handle all have the same response, door starts to open lifts up some and then automatically shuts on its own. Glass is not unlatched. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.

The struts that open the gate are bad. Had it happen on my 15. They had to replace the shock looking things on both sides of the tailgate
