Default DIC Mileage Display

We used to own a 2003 2500 HD Silverado Duramax/Allison combo. After a few thousand miles, I remember re-setting the DIC mileage display, so that we were getting a re-calibrated and accurate calculation of the fuel that was used.
We now own a 2009 Tahoe. 5.3 litre and I would like to know if anyone is aware of a simiilar procedure for this vehicle?
As I recall, one of the DIC buttons had to be held down and the accelarator pedal was depressed....
Any ideas, or is this something new?

The owner's manual explains how to reset all of the different DIC displays. Basically depress the button w/ the check mark on it to reset the displayed function.

Default Re-set!!

Thanks for the advice and I managed to push the correct DIC buttons. It will be interesting to see what mileage numbers we are achieving. Tahoes are advertised as getting 30 mpg, BUT I am highly skeptical. Perhaps in a perfect world, but at 130 - 140 KPH on the highway.......

30mph really? I don't think I have heard that unless they are referring to the Hybrid in town on a flat surface, with no traffic lights and the wind at your back and the moon directly in front causing a tidal pull on the truck...

I have seen 23mpg for a portion of a tank on level highway at 50mph with the 5.3...

yeah I don't think you will see 30mpg. but if you do some highway at 60mph I am sure you could get some good numbers.

Best I got w/ my '07 was 20+ for a 150 mi trip to the lake at 70 mph and mistakenly in 4WD Hi. In 2WD for same trip the best was 19+. Go figure.

in our '07 2wd with the 3.42 gears I get right at 19.5 - 21.00 mpg with all highway (14 - 16 city). best mph is around 60 - 65 for mileage but feels so dang slow when people are flying by you. I usually just set cruse at 70mph.
