Push the blue OnStar button and have the advisor run a Remote Diagnostic on your vehicle or take it to the dealer, there are hundreds of codes and we have no way to know which one is triggered.
99% of the time it is a loose fuel cap.

Thats funny, mine came on as well just this past Friday. I called onstar and they said it was emissions, and said that I just needed to tighten my gas cap. I tightened the gas cap, except it didnt make my light go off. I gave it a day, and then had to fill up the tahoe, and so I made sure I tightened the cap. I filled up on Sunday, and it is still on as of today. Onstar told me to wait about 7 days and it should go away, if not to take it in....This saturday, I may have to take it in to the dealer....

zx, you are a again correct. the gas cap was not tight. the light is off thank you sir!!!!!

Once you tightened the cap did the light go off immediately? My light is still on and the lid has been tightened..

Sometimes the light will extinguish immediately and sometimes it takes up to 25 engine cycles (days).

Just to update,

I took my hoe in to the dealer this morning. My light still hasnt gone off. They did their thing and said they had to order a new fuel cap. Said that it was leaking internally. The new fuel cap should be here Tuesday or so...so I will keep you updated...hopefully that will fix the issue...

that sucks that it did not work fast. all i did is tighting it and the light tuyrned off

If you're really lucky they'll send you one of those FANCY yellow ones. Awhile back GM said they were going to send out replacement yellow caps for the E-85 units already sold. I never got mine...
