Fuel Pump? Fuel Pressure Regulator? on a tahoe 07

I have a 2001 Tahoe LT 4x4 and am having the same issues. If my vehicle sits for over 30 minutes it will not start on the 1st crank, but its starts right away on the 2nd crank and the car runs great. if i stop for a couple minutes it will start right up. I have replaced the fuel filter and the fuel pressure regulator and it still does the same thing. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum,
That sounds like a fuel pump issue and it will most likely get worse, the best way to verify is to check the fuel pressure, it should be solid and with in 55to 65 psi while running and should not drop right away once the engine is turned off...

same problem
I've got same problem on 2007 suburban, flex fuel. Are you sure the regulator is on the fuel pump module? Chevy replaced this module 21 months (45,000 miles ago). Think I have an issue here to maybe get a new pump?

this past weekend, my engine starting has gotten better. I haven't done anything to it. waiting to talk to the dealer about replacing the fuel pump, but I've noticed this weekend that the starting is normal, even after it sits a while. Is it just a queer-tron, the calm before the storm thing? I'm trying to burn the gas off of it so I can replace it. I've been running on less than 3/8 of a tank. now fuel light is on. It's not going to fix itself is it?

Checked fuel pressure Friday. None initially. Slowly builds to 60PSI during second crank when it starts. Sunday's cranking was bad so I guess I never let it sit long enough to bleed down.

2000 Suburban 1500 doing the same thing. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and for a day it an ok, then went back to the same thing starting on the second crank. I swapped the relay with the rear defog relay and the engine started. From my deduction here on the forum after reading the pages everyone has has a good response after changing the fuel pump. I am going to go to Sears tomorrow and pick up a pressure gauge. I went out and picked up CPS and TPS and changed FPR so far. The CPS & the TPS I did not install I think I will hold off and change the fuel pump first and possibly return the other parts if the problem stops.

Is the pressure to start at 55-60 or build to it? getting gauge tomorrow and checking but will order fuel pump asap.

It built to 60 PSI. I think it cranked at about 21 PSI but don't rally remember. I replaced the fuel pump in my drive way with the help of a young kid. Off and on in 2 hours. Never done it before so I was happy. Have a good floor jack, be low on fuel, and plywood between the straps securing the fuel tank and you shouldn't have any problems with it. I recommend the fuel pump and return the other parts

having issues with my 99 chevy pickup also. I live on a ranch and have a fuel storage tank. May have a fuel issue causing the problem. But it appears that chevy is having a fuel pump problem that they are not willing to address. This is the 3rde pump in 115K miles; original, one at 68K then now at 115K. I guess that since the pump is lasting the warranty period, chevy is happy with it. Now they get to sell more pumps.
