gas pedal hard to push
this problem seems to be getting worse , i have lubed the cable and the spring at the throttle body but it is not helping, when i push the pedal it is very hard to move , it sorta sounds like a young guy trying to show his muscles, any ideas????

RE: gas pedal hard to push
have you tried lubing the pivot point at the gas pedal?
Is the throttle body hard to move by hand under the hood?...or is it only when depressing the gas pedal?

RE: gas pedal hard to push
it seems to be easy to move by hand at the throttle body , but it is hard to tell because it is different than, using your foot, and i have used wd 40 on the pedal pivot points, there is like a couple of screws with aplate on it above the pedal, where i think the cable hooks up, i don't know if it could be binding in there or not, someone said that carbon can build up inside the throttle body and that would cause this problem, where the linkage goes through the side

RE: gas pedal hard to push
carbon build-up doens't sound like your problem if you can move the throttle very easily by hand. If you unook the cable at the pedal and move the pedal by hand, is it still stiff?.....if not you're probably looking at the cable
