Hello
I am in need of two gears. I found your website and apparently can add them to the order cart. I also will need a video etc on the disassembly. I have had one of the mirrors apart but wasn't able to expose the motor / gear.

Thanks
Joel

Now You Can Buy the Motor With a New Gear Pre-Installed!

GruvenParts.com is proud to release our repair for the 2007-2014 GM door lock actuators. In most cases, the faulty motor within the actuator burns out but the rest of the actuator unit is still fine. GruvenParts.com has corrected this design flaw by developing a new high torque motor with the factory correct wiring input. Our motors have passed rigorous 35,000 lock/unlock cycle testing without issue. We warranty all units for 1 year, but if there are ever any issues with the product we ask you to contact us immediately even if outside the warranty period. Please read the repair options below before ordering.

Repair Options
Buy Motor Only and Install Yourself - Save $$. Click the product image above to visit the product page and read the motor only install procedure.

Buy a Repaired Actuator : Our FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant mechanics disassemble the broken actuators, clean and lubricate the core components, and replace the unreliable GM electric motor within the unit with our new high torque design with the factory correct wiring input. The repaired units are bolted back together using appropriate fasteners and can be easily re-serviced. The repaired actuator is fully tested and warranted.

Send Us Your Actuator for Repair : Send in your actuator to the address specified on the Product Page. We will accomplish the repair described above and send it back to you within 1-2 weeks.

BEFORE ORDERING THE ACTUATOR :
Please email Paul@GruvenParts.com with your actuator part number so we can ensure we have it in stock. You can call your dealer parts department and provide them your VIN # and they will give you all your actuator part numbers. Remember : LF (Left Front) is Drivers Side Front, RR (Right Rear) is Passenger Side Rear.

Good luck guys. I've been trying to explain to the OP for a few months now that the pre-orders aren't going to happen until people know how to DIY for this project. The info that is out there on youtube and various other channels more often than not leads to more destruction of the part your trying to repair than it is worth.

I doubt OP is going to just send gears "first" in exchange for the write up. Kenny if you are willing to teardown your mirrors and write it up with pics in a way that doesn't destroy the damn things, I would bet you would get the gears. I know it would lead to more pre-orders.

Otherwise nothing will happen. 7 months now and nothing so far. Tried to explain it a while back...but seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

I'm sorry but if I can't afford to spend $500 on a new mirror, I can't afford to break it trying to find out if A. I can do it myself and (more importantly) B. If the gear is really the issue and it isn't a bad harness or motor or something.

I have a broken gear on a drivers side mirror now. So if the OP is willing to send gears, I will pull it apart and do a write up with pics, video, etc. I would not be willing to do it twice, once for pics and video, and then once for repair though.

Honestly, anyone that has the tools and mechanical inclination should be able to figure it out for themselves. I know there are a lot of "You Tube Generation" people out there that can't fry an egg without looking up how on the internet though.

If I don't hear back soon, I may buy a used motor to rip apart for the part that breaks. Then send it to one of the factories I work with off shore. They can make the whole gear assembly out of solid billet and I'll start selling them with instructions....

Kenny, I have tools and mechanical inclination. I guess maybe this repair just comes easier for some folks. For me, I know if done wrong it will lead to me buying more parts and/or housings to replace the ones that get "chewed" up in the process of the repair.

This is why I haven't done it myself. I attempted to one day when I first took the mirror off. I was able to get the glass on/off easily, but the chrome cap started to break tabs, and it was apparent that I was either not doing it right, or there was a better way. I stopped and put it back on, as folding would be very convenient to me but not a necessity.

If someone can show me how to do it, so that it doesn't look like a 8 yr old broke it apart with various screwdrivers, then lets have at it. These are nice vehicles we are talking about here...I want it to stay looking nice....all of it. lol.

The cap is one of the easier parts to come off. Use a plastic putty knife to get under the lower edge and just pull gently in several places once it pops off in a couple of places, it almost falls off. I pulled this part off first then it's easier to get the mirror off.

2007-2014 GM Trucks Folding Mirror Reinforced Spur Gear - Click Picture for the Product Page !

www.GruvenParts.com is pleased to announce our replacement Reinforced spur gear for the folding mirrors on 2007-2014 GM truck including Escalade, Silverado, Avalanche, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra, Yukon, and Denali.

This product carries a LIFETIME WARRANTY!

Gear Installation DIY Is Now Available ! Visit Our Product Page to View

As many have discovered, the folding mirror assembly on these trucks suffers from 1 weak point : a spur located within the mechanism is very weak and strips or cracks over time causing an inoperable folding mirror. Unfortunately, GM will only sell you the complete folding mirror assembly, which ranges from $700-$1,200 ea depending on the year/make/model (after labor and paint).

And that $ would be spent just to get another faulty mirror assembly with a weak spur gear that will soon fail.

GruvenParts.com has addressed this issue by designing a reinforced spur gear to eliminate the cracking and stripping which is occurring in the GM spur gear.

Sold as a set of 2 – enough for 1 vehicle! Gear Fits Both Passenger and Drivers Side Power Folding Mirrors.

Application :
All 2007-2014 GM Trucks With Folding Mirrors Including Escalade, Silverado, Avalanche, Tahoe, Suburban, Sierra, Yukon, and Denali. This includes (but not limited to) the following mirror assembly part numbers :

25-83-12-36 (25831236), 25-77-98-49 (25779849)

This list of part numbers will continually grow as we build the interchange list. This is in no way complete, as most GM trucks made from 2007-2014 with power folding mirrors will use this gear. If your power folding mirror looks like the mirror shown in the DIY, this gear will fit your vehicle.
