Default High Oil Pressure

I have a 2003 Tahoe the oil pressure gauge is pegged at 80, the truck usually runs with it between 40 and 60. It seems to be running fine and no other warning lights or gauges out of the normal range?

If the needle is does not return to zero when you shut the key off then the stepper (indicator needle) motor in the cluster is a likely suspect otherwise the sender.
