Default Hood Deflector (OEM) - Closing Hood?

New here, pardon the "stupid question". I did a search...

I know how to close the hood on my new LTZ (2007) without getting the infamous "dents" by avoiding pushing down on the hood from on top. I close the hood using the slanted front.

When I put on the OEM bug / rock guard, what is the best way to close the hood? It's a bit of a finesse job even before putting the deflector on.

I have it sitting on the floor waiting to install....if this turns into having to push "down on the hood", I'm sending it back and getting the 3M clear bra....

Thanks.

I think you can still use a similar method. My hood closes fairly easy, so I would think the hood deflector would hold up just fine if you pushed on it to close your hood. Just my opinion.

Gently pull the hood down (by latch) slow enough to allow piston to keep up but not resist downward movement. Once it is 95% closed you can press down pretty easily to latch. Pick any spot to press at that point.

Agreed, even better, there are actually two holes on each side of the latch where you can grab the hood and lower.
