Default how do i know if i have limited slip rear diff?

thought it was transmission but found out the rear diff blew up. shop said it would be $2200 to rebuild because it is limited slip. can anyone confirm limited slip for 99 K1500 suburban v8 vortec 5.7

look in the glove box..there is a a bunch of RPO codes..g80 is posi/limitslip...i think there is a few more codes but im not sure what they are..

Just go to a junk yard and get some 'new' parts... $2,200 for what?!

..try another shop 99burb..see what they say if you cant figure it out..2200 sounds they like are about to bend u over and...well u know..

Just checked my records and mine ran $1500 in 2004 for complete rebuild of the rear end 94 Suburban 4X4, posi and 3.73 gears.

im rebuilding my rear for about $200 all said and done, used posi (25k miles and $100) and all the seals and bearings are about another 100

I rebuilt my 8.5" with all new bearings, seals, rear brakes hardware and cylinders, new auburn gear locker, and 4.10 gears for $600
