Cool Identify Alternator On 2004 Suburban

How can I tell if my 2004 Suburban has a 145 amp or 105 amp alternator?

is there a part number on there you could look up? I think most came with the bigger one. but not sure.

check your RPO codes in the glove box for one of these...

KW1 13780 P GEN M GENERATOR 160 AMP
KW2 13781 P GEN M GENERATOR 124 AMP
KW3 13782 P GEN M GENERATOR 135 AMP
KW7 13786 P GEN M GENERATOR 170 AMP
KW9 13788 P GEN M GENERATOR 190 AMP

So what was it? I know my 04 burb has a 145amp alt in it. Thats the one listed in my rpo codes anyway.

I have a 2000 chevy suburban and need to replace the alternator> I went to buy the alternator but I need to know how many amps I buy 105, 130 Ect.....

Take your VIN number to the parts store and they should be able to tell you which one you have OR check the RPO codes in your glove box and compare to the above list
