Installing power running boards?
I really like the power-retractable running boards on my mom's ESV, so I was wondering if it was possible to buy the Escalade/Denali power running boards and install them on an LT3 Tahoe with manual boards? I'm aware that the Tahoes do sport those in some models, so if the Cadillac ones don't work then I'd be fine with the Chevy ones. Basically I'm just wanting to know if any of the OEM GM power steps will be compatible with a Tahoe that has manual ones, assuming that there might be a power socket for them to connect to. Thanks!

I think as long as you have the right size running boards you should be fine. There are 3 cables coming from the boards, I'm assuming they are power, ground, and door trigger. I plan on getting these also and installing them, let me know how it goes.

Well, I got under my Hoee with a flashlight and checked out the boards, I didn't see anywhere on the vehicle itself where cables would connect. But you would think the factory would assemble it with them in case the consumer wished for the dealer to install the power running boards, and since the LTZ models can get these. Maybe I overlooked the adapters.

Just FYI.....there are aftermarket retractable running boards at Amp Research. I know you wanted OEM but I have seen these on a few show vehicles and they seem to do the trick.

RE: Installing power running boards?
Yes, the aftermarket ones I have considered but oddly I can find the OEM ones cheaper so I thought those would be easier as well. I'll end up getting aftermarket if I can't get the OEMs hardwired [thanks charlie and txguykev].

Appreciate all the help in advance. How do I help my dealer do this?? And what is the typical cost involved?
Thanks again.

I have a 2015 crew cab and have bought some GM off of a 2013 LTZ avalanche that was added about a yr ago. Do I need a wiring harness to make this work or will I have to hardwire it. Any help would be appreciated
